“Sometimes, the path you carve for others is born from the very struggle you once walked alone.” – Kavita Yadav
April, a month of quiet transitions and brave beginnings.
While students step into a brand-new academic year, finance professionals close one ledger to open another, and businesses gear up for the second quarter – I, too, find myself at the threshold of a new chapter.
This April, I am finally giving shape to something that’s lived in my heart for a long time: a safe space for budding and returning psychologists to learn, grow, and practice with confidence and integrity.
The Freelancer’s Journey: Balancing Passion, Parenthood & Professionalism
Let me take you back a bit…
With 5 years of studying psychology and 10+ years devoted to using it in my corporate career, I thought I would find it easy to return to counselling after a break. But to my surprise, I found myself unsure, even lost. I reached out. I asked. I explored. But more often than not, the responses were vague, half-hearted, or just not aligned with what I truly needed.
It wasn’t that there was no support at all. Some people genuinely tried to help, and I am grateful for them. But what I was really looking for was clarity, connection, and courage not shortcuts or quick fixes, but a sincere space where one could grow without judgment.
So, I started small.
I returned to the basics. I unlearned, relearned, upgraded. I deepened my knowledge, got certified again, and slowly rebuilt my confidence. It was tough. But in doing this, I realized I was not alone.
There are so many passionate, talented people out there, freshers stepping into the field with dreams in their eyes, or professionals like me making a comeback — who don’t know where to begin or whom to turn to.
And that’s when the idea of PsychBox was born.
A safe, empowering, no-pretense learning space where you do not just get theory — you get real, usable tools. A place where you build a confident, ethical, and compassionate practice — one step at a time.
But I knew I could not (and did not want to) do this alone.
I believe in collaboration over competition. I reached out to others – experienced, qualified, passionate professionals and found a team that truly gets it. After years of hoping and waiting, I found my tribe.
And together, we have created something I am deeply proud of:
PsychBox – The Psychological Toolkit
A curated learning and upskilling program filled with practical, research-based tools, real-life techniques, and grounded support for anyone who’s ready to begin, restart, or refine their counselling journey.
If you are a student, a budding psychologist, or someone who has been waiting for the right moment to return – this might be it. Not perfect, not finished, but real. And that’s what makes it powerful.
